Mount Angel Abbey

Mass & Prayer Schedule

Prayer Schedule During COVID-19 Pandemic

It is with regret and sorrow that I announce we are not able to open our church for others to join the monks for Vigils and Lauds or for the celebration of Mass. This is a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus.

The Abbey church will be open each day at 9 am (on Sundays at 10 am) for people to come in and pray quietly and also for those who wish to join the monks for the other hours of prayer throughout the rest of the day. The Abbey church will be closed each day after Compline at 8 pm.

Abbot Jeremy Driscoll, O.S.B.
Mount Angel Abbey

The Abbey church is the heart and soul of the Hilltop, where the monks live and pray. Rooted deeply in the 1,500-year-old Rule of St. Benedict, monks of Mount Angel Abbey gather in the Abbey church for prayer six times each day for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the Liturgy of the Hours. Guests are always welcome and are encouraged to join with the monks in prayer. Books are provided in the vestibule of the church. Prayer begins five minutes after the Abbey bells begin ringing.
