Niall Ransford: Classical Guitar

Join us for an intimate classical guitar performance by Niall Ransford, graduate of Bard College. He will explore the rich legacy of Bach’s influence on the guitar in a program featuring stunning works by composers from the Americas, alongside Bach himself. The journey begins with the Lute Suite in E Minor, a cornerstone of the guitar repertoire. Its famous Bourrée, (recognizable from Jethro Tull’s iconic version and the film School of Rock), showcases Bach’s timeless appeal across genres and generations.

On Thursday 5/28 and Friday 5/29, come also for the student showcases of the Classical Guitar Immersion program, led by guitarist Scott Kritzer. Thursday’s performance is entitled “Romantic music for guitar,” and Friday’s will be “Music from the Baroque.”
