Eugene Seminary Benefit Dinner 2018
Called to Share the Light of Faith!
In just a few days, the largest gathering of Catholics in Southern Oregon will take place to celebrate and support the men studying for the priesthood at Mount Angel Seminary.
The 9th annual Seminary Benefit Dinner Eugene will be Sunday, March 4, from 4 to 7:30 pm, at the Eugene Hilton. This year, the theme is Called to Share the Light of Faith, and we rejoice in having more than 140 men studying at Mount Angel, looking forward to serving in parishes across the Northwest and into the Pacific Islands.
Dinner guests will have the opportunity to meet and converse with the seminarians and learn what draws them to give their lives to God and his Church through priestly ordination. Guests at previous dinners tell us that their conversations with the seminarians during the reception and dinner are the highlight of the event!
The seminarians will also share their talent with our guests through music and by sharing their vocational stories. A new video, produced especially for this dinner, will focus on how daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration keeps the light of faith alive at Mount Angel Seminary. As one seminarian put it, "For me, the celebration of the Eucharist is the reason, in a sense, for becoming a priest."
Last year, close to 350 guests broke bread at the Benefit Dinner, getting acquainted with the men who will offer the light of Christ to the world through their priestly ministry. It was a memorable evening, marked by laughter, fellowship and great conversations between dinner guests, bishops, priests, monks, and seminarians.
Join us and learn how these future priests prepare through years of classroom study, spiritual direction, and pastoral formation assignments as they journey toward their goal of priestly ordination. These are men our world needs.
Thank you! And please remember that you are embraced by a circle of grateful prayer by the seminarians of Mount Angel.
