Celebrating the Seminary Benefit Dinner 2016
Many thanks to all who joined the Mount Angel seminarians in celebrating the 13th annual Seminary Benefit Dinner on Sunday, November 6, at the Oregon Convention Center. In the words of one attendee, the entire evening was an “immersion in Catholic spirituality.”
More than 1,000 guests broke bread with more than 150 seminarians, getting acquainted with the men who will offer the light of Christ to the world through their priestly ministry.
It was a memorable evening, marked by laughter, fellowship and great conversations between dinner guests, bishops, priests, monks and seminarians. And, it was a record-breaking success with more than $1 million dollars raised for Mount Angel Seminary!
A highlight of the evening was a new video, showing daily life at Mount Angel Seminary as these men strive to say “yes” to God’s call each and every day. See how they prepare through years of classroom study, spiritual direction, and pastoral formation assignments as they journey toward their goal of priestly ordination. These are men our world needs.
If you weren’t able to attend the dinner, it’s not too late to add your support for Mount Angel Abbey and Seminary!
And it’s not too early to mark the calendar for the 2017 dinner, scheduled for Nov. 5, at the Oregon Convention Center. To learn more, please contact us at 503-845-3064, or SBD@mtangel.edu.
