By Br. Nov. Aage Nielsen

Mount Angel Abbey welcomed Br. Postulant Tuan Le to the community on 20 March 2012, and he is quickly assimilating into monastic life. He visited the abbey for discernment retreats in January, September and November of 2011. While in the early stage of formation, in addition to his postulant duties and classes with Fr. Odo, Br. Tuan joins the novices for classes on The Holy Rule of Saint Benedict, taught by Fr. Abbot Gregory. Br. Tuan expresses a passion for music, and began learning to play some piano and guitar. He likes to play traditional Vietnamese music, and revealed an interest in learning to play the organ.

Aged 31, and originally from Vietnam, Br. Tuan spent his youth in Des Plaines, Illinois. Before moving to Orange County, California, he studied for two years each at both Saint Joseph College Seminary at Loyola University of Chicago and University of Saint Mary of the Lake Mundelein Seminary.
